Money Box Competition


Room 9 very proud of their money box entries.


Today we entered our money box creations into the competition. We think they look  the best! Here we are in action.


Can you spot the cell phone and the Sweet house money box?
This is Pia's amazing dragon creation along side Nathan's Owl.


We even had trains, super hero's and pigs
This is Lara's Train and carriage with a caboose.


We used drink cartons of various sizes to create our boxes
We used coloured paper and collage skills to create our boxes into creatures like owls, dragons and birds.

St Johns Ambulance First Aid Lesson

Today we learnt about what to do in the case of an emergency, hypothermia, get stung by a bee, heat stroke ,minor wounds and burns. The St Johns Officer provided a variety of different scenarios for us to practise what we had learnt.

Money Matters



For theme Room 9 has been studying Money Matters. We worked in groups to identify the different types of shops and facilities in a community like Howick. We planned and drew our own community.

Part of our learning was to understand the difference between a need and a want.
We learnt the difference between a service and a good . Once our map was complete the next step was to identify on our map the items we thought we a service e.g Police and a goods e.g Countdown
